Write for us

Active Community News welcomes considered pitches about joining groups, sharing skills, planning gatherings, using shared places and the habits that support participation.

What makes a good pitch

Propose one focused subject, name the reader it would help and explain the useful idea or choice the piece will cover. Keep the scope specific, evergreen and suitable for a general audience; show how the piece can avoid assumptions about one community or setting.

What to send

Include a working title, a short outline, your proposed angle and any relevant experience or material you would draw on. Do not send confidential information or claim credentials you do not hold.

How to propose it

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; please wait for a response before sending a complete draft.

Our point of view

Participation works best when the next step is clear.

We focus on small, workable choices: how to join, contribute, organise and make room for different ways of taking part.
